Run Social Media Inside Claude with Blotato
- By Praveen Jha · Updated 2026-10-23 · 7 min read · Social media
Create, design, post and schedule to 9 social platforms - from one Claude chat. Turn one blog post, script or set of notes into platform-ready posts, with visuals and optional DM automation.
What this guide gives a developer
The exact 4-part stack: Blotato MCP, Canva MCP, and two Claude Skills (plus an optional third)
- Step-by-step setup for each connector and skill, in install order
- The 6-step repeat workflow to use in every chat, plus copy-paste prompts
- Safety checks, troubleshooting and a pre-flight checklist
CLAUDE BLOTATO MCP CANVA MCP 9 PLATFORMS DM AUTOMATION
Best for: creators, marketers and small teams who already write in Claude and want publishing without switching apps.
Time to set up: one session - install two skills, connect Canva, add Blotato as a custom connector, then connect your social accounts once in Blotato.
1 How it works - one chat, four jobs
Claude does the writing and coordination. Each connected tool does one specialist job, so quality stays high at every stage.
- Input: Blog post, script or notes you paste in.
- Repurpose: Skill rewrites it for each platform.
- Humanise + visual: Avoid-AI skill + Canva image.
- Publish: Blotato posts / schedules + DM automation.
The idea in one sentence
This stack teaches Claude to turn one piece of your content into posts for each platform, written for how people actually read there - not the same caption pasted everywhere.
What each part controls
- Content Repurposing skill - platform format, length, hooks and calls to action.
- Avoid AI Writing skill - removes AI markers so posts sound human.
- Voice Builder skill (optional) - keeps posts in your brand voice.
- Canva MCP - carousel slides, quote cards and story graphics to match the caption.
- Blotato MCP - publishing and scheduling to 9 platforms, plus DM automation.
Developer note: Blotato is the only publishing path here. Claude never posts directly to a social platform - it calls Blotato, and Blotato uses the accounts you connected in its dashboard. If a post fails, check Blotato account connections first.
Prerequisites
- A Claude account with access to Customize > Skills and Customize > Connectors
- A Blotato account (sign-up link in the stack table)
- A Canva account
- At least one social account you can connect inside Blotato
- One piece of content to test with - a published blog post works best
2 The stack at a glance
Install in this order: writing skills first, Canva second, Blotato last. That way, the first test post can use every part.
| Stack | What it is for | Link / where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Blotato MCP | Post content to 9 platforms and set up DM automation | Sign up for Blotato: https://tolt.link/blotato-claude Server URL: https://mcp.blotato.com/mcp |
| Canva MCP | Create the visuals | Available in Claude's connectors directory |
| Content Repurposing skill | Repurpose any content into a social media post | https://github.com/rampstackco/claude-skills/blob/main/skills/content-repurposing/SKILL.md |
| Avoid AI Writing skill | Remove AI markers from content | https://github.com/conorbronsdon/avoid-ai-writing |
| Voice Builder skill | Build your brand voice | https://github.com/charlie947/social-media-skills/tree/main/skills/voice-builder |
How to read the links
For the two main skills, download from the GitHub repo, then upload into Claude as shown in Section 3.
Canva needs no download - it is a directory connector.
- Blotato needs no download either, but it is not in the default directory yet - you add it manually as a custom connector (Section 5).
Keep your files: Save the downloaded skill files. If you move Claude accounts or workspaces, you will need to upload and install them again.

3 Install the writing skills
Step 1 - Content Repurposing skill
This teaches Claude to turn one piece of content into posts written for each platform.
- Open Claude and go to Customize → Skills.
- Click "+", then "Add new skill".
- Upload the skill downloaded from the GitHub repo in the stack table.
- Click Install.
Manual alternative: click "+" → "Create skill" → upload the skill's .md file.
Step 2 - Avoid AI Writing skill
This teaches Claude to write without AI markers.
- Open Claude and go to Customize → Skills.
- Click "+", then "Add new skill".
- Upload the skill downloaded from its GitHub repo.
- Click Install.
Tip: For posts in your own voice, also install the Voice Builder skill (third row of optional skills in the stack table) using the same four steps.
Verify
Both skills should appear as installed under Customize > Skills before you continue. If an upload fails, redownload the file from GitHub and check you are uploading the skill file itself, not a zipped folder Claude cannot read.
4 Connect Canva for visuals
Canva makes the image to go with your caption - carousel slides, quote cards or story graphics.
- Go to Customize → Connectors.
- Find Canva in the connector directory and click Connect.
- Log in at canva.com and click Allow.
- Canva now shows as a connected app inside Claude.
Done when: Canva appears as connected in Customize > Connectors. No server URL is needed for Canva - unlike Blotato, it is already in the directory.
5 Connect Blotato for publishing
One connection, and Claude can publish or schedule to 9 social platforms and set up DM automation.
- Go to Customize → Connectors.
- Click "+" → "Add custom connector" (Blotato is not in the default directory yet).
- Name it "Blotato" and paste this server URL:
Copy-ready text
https://mcp.blotato.com/mcp- Click Add, then Connect, and sign in with your Blotato account.
- In Blotato's dashboard, connect the social accounts you want Claude to post to.
- Come back to Claude and start posting by chatting.
Critical step: Step 5 happens in Blotato, not Claude. If Claude says it cannot post to a platform, that account is usually not connected (or its login has expired) in the Blotato dashboard.
6 The repeat workflow - use it every time
Same chat, every time. Paste one piece of content, then work through these six asks in order.
- Paste your blog post (or script) into Claude.
- Ask: Repurpose this into an Instagram post.
- Ask: Run avoid-ai-writing on the generated content.
- Ask: Generate a matching carousel image in Canva.
- Ask: Post this through Blotato. Or schedule it for later.
- Optional: set up a DM automation on the same post with the Blotato MCP.
Copy-paste prompt library
Copy-ready text
Repurpose this into an Instagram post.
Repurpose this into posts for LinkedIn, X and Instagram - each written for how
people read on that platform. Keep the core idea, change the format.
Run avoid-ai-writing on the generated content.
Generate a matching carousel image in Canva.
Post this through Blotato.
Schedule this through Blotato for [day and time]. Do not post it now.Use the prompts above as written. The multi-platform and scheduling variants cover posting now or scheduling for later.
7 Safety, troubleshooting & checklist
Work safely
- Review before you post. Read the repurposed, humanised text and check the Canva visual before you say "Post this through Blotato."
- Schedule first while learning. Scheduling gives you a window to catch errors in Blotato before anything goes live.
- Control DM automation. Set it up deliberately per post (workflow step 6 is optional) and check the trigger and reply wording before enabling it.
- Know how to disconnect. Remove a social account in the Blotato dashboard to stop Claude posting to it; disconnect Blotato or Canva in Claude under Customize > Connectors.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Blotato not found in connectors | It is not in the default directory yet. Use "+" → "Add custom connector" and the MCP server URL in Section 5. |
| Claude cannot post to a platform | Open the Blotato dashboard and connect (or reconnect) that social account there first. |
| Skill upload fails | Re-download from GitHub. For a manual install, use "+" → "Create skill" and upload the skill's .md file. |
| Canva not available in chat | Check Customize > Connectors - Canva should show as connected. Reconnect and click Allow at canva.com if needed. |
| Posts sound generic or AI-written | Run the avoid-ai-writing step (do not skip step 3) and install Voice Builder for brand voice. |
