How it works

You describe the form you need in Claude. Claude builds it in Jotform through the Jotform connector. When responses come in, you ask Claude about them in plain English and it pulls the submissions through the same connector to analyze them.

  1. You: Describe the form in Claude chat.
  2. Claude: Creates and edits through the Jotform connector.
  3. Jotform Connector: Provides authorized access to the form and submissions.
  4. Analysis: Summaries and reports.

What this replaces

Opening a form builder and dragging fields one by one for a first draft.

Exporting responses to a spreadsheet just to get a summary, themes or sentiment.

Manually reading every submission to spot complaints, qualified leads or trends.

Create in chat

Ask for the form by purpose - feedback, lead capture, registration, intake - and Claude creates it in your Jotform account.

Analyze in chat

Ask about the responses you already have. Claude pulls submissions through the connector and summarizes them for you.

Developer note: This is a connector workflow, not a custom integration. There is no API key to generate, store or rotate. Access is granted when you authorize the connector in Jotform and can be reviewed there.

Setup in 6 steps

Follow the steps in order. Do not test prompts until the connector shows as connected and authorized.

1. Create a free Jotform account

Go to jotform.com. Sign up with Google, Microsoft, Apple or email. The free Starter plan works.

2. Check your dashboard

Log in and, optionally, create a test form to confirm your account works before you connect anything.

3. Open Claude

Use the Claude desktop app or claude.ai.

4. Add the Jotform connector

In Claude: Settings -> Connectors -> search "Jotform" -> Connect.

5. Authorize

Claude sends you to Jotform. Sign in, approve the permissions and allow access. No API key is needed.

6. Test it

Run the test prompt on the next page. If Claude creates the form in Jotform, the connection is working end-to-end.

Before you start: Use the same account throughout - the Jotform account you authorize is the account Claude will create forms in and read submissions from. If you have multiple Jotform accounts, confirm you are signed into the right one at Step 5.

If the connector does not appear

Confirm you are in Settings -> Connectors in Claude, not in a project or chat setting.

  • Search for the exact name "Jotform".
  • Complete authorization in Jotform - returning to Claude without approving leaves the connector unconnected.

Test it, then analyze responses

Step 6 test prompt - use this first

Test prompt

Create a customer feedback form

Open Jotform and confirm the new form exists in your dashboard. That confirms create access. Editing and analysis use the same authorized connection.

Can Claude analyze responses? Yes.

Claude pulls submissions through the connector and analyzes them. Use these prompts verbatim, then follow up in the same chat to narrow by date, form or theme.

ANALYSIS PROMPTS

  1. Analyze sentiment from my feedback form.
  2. Summarize customer complaints from the last 100 responses.
  3. What themes appear most often in these submissions?
  4. Which leads look most qualified?
  5. Create a report from this month's registrations.

How to get a useful answer

Name the form. If you have several forms, say which one you mean in the prompt.

  • Set the window. Say "last 100 responses" or "this month" - do not leave the range open.
  • Ask one question at a time. Sentiment, themes and qualification are separate passes over the same submissions.
  • Check the summary against a few raw responses in Jotform before you act on it or share a report.

Good follow-ups: After a themes summary, ask Claude to group the same submissions by theme, pull example responses for one theme, or turn the findings into a report for a specific period. Report generation and trend-spotting work well as follow-on steps.

What to build - form catalog

Use the category names below as your starting prompt. For example: "Create a lead capture form" or "Create an NPS survey". Pick a category, then refine the draft in chat.

CategoryForm types
Lead generationContact us, lead capture, free consultation request, quote request, sales inquiry
Client onboardingClient intake, project discovery, brand strategy questionnaire, website design brief, marketing onboarding
Coaching and consultingDiscovery call application, coaching intake, goal-setting, client assessment
HR and hiringJob application, employee onboarding, interview evaluation, employee referral
EducationStudent registration, course enrollment, scholarship application, parent information
EventsWebinar registration, workshop signup, RSVP, speaker application
Feedback and surveysCustomer feedback, NPS, product feedback, employee satisfaction
SupportSupport ticket, bug report, feature request
Industry examplesAstrology, vastu or numerology consultation, real estate leads, insurance quotes, medical intake, legal intake, wedding inquiry, travel planning, testimonial collection

Prompt pattern: "Create a [form type] form" gets you a first draft. Then refine it in the same chat - see the next page for the edits Claude can make after creation.

After you create a form

Creation is only the first step. After creating a form, Claude can also:

  • Edit fields
  • Add or remove questions
  • Add conditional logic
  • Pull submissions
  • Generate reports
  • Extract testimonials
  • Spot trends

Example workflow 1 - Feedback loop

  1. Create a customer feedback form (test prompt).
  2. Refine it: add or remove questions, edit fields, add conditional logic where a follow-up question depends on an earlier answer.
  3. Share the form from Jotform and collect responses.
  4. Return to Claude: analyze sentiment, summarize complaints, surface the most frequent themes.

Example workflow 2 - Lead review

  1. Create a lead capture, quote request or consultation request form.
  2. Collect responses in Jotform.
  3. Ask: "Which leads look most qualified?"
  4. Review the shortlist against the raw submissions before follow-up.

Example workflow 3 - Monthly reporting

  1. Use an existing registration or signup form.
  2. Ask: "Create a report from this month's registrations."
  3. Ask a follow-up to spot trends across the same submissions.

Safety, limits and pre-flight checklist

Handle submissions with care

  • Forms collect personal data - names, contact details, and in intake forms, sensitive context. Only connect the Jotform account you intend Claude to read.
  • Review any report or testimonial extract before publishing it. Confirm the person consented to that use in the form itself.
  • Verify summaries against raw submissions in Jotform, especially for complaints, medical or legal intake, and lead qualification.
  • If you no longer want Claude to access forms, disconnect the Jotform connector in Claude Settings -> Connectors and review connected access in Jotform.

Do not skip verification: An analysis is a summary of submissions, not the submissions themselves. For decisions - hiring, support priority, client follow-up - read the underlying responses.

Pre-flight checklist
